Career Services & TAP (Lemoore)

Programs are geared towards assisting Sailors and family members find meaningful employment. Two Day Career Tracks are also available for those pursuing Higher Education, Entrepreneurship and Technical Careers.

Sailors and their family members can drop-in or make an appointment with one of our Work and Family Life Consultants (WLFC) in the event that they are not able to attend a workshop. 

Family Employment Readiness Program

One-on-one employment assistance and workshops addressing professional networking, job search, career planning, resume writing, interview techniques, self-assessments, and vocational program information for the federal and civilian employment sectors.

FFSC workshops include Career Exploration, Winning Interview Techniques, Owning Your Own Business, Benefits of Volunteering, and Civilian and Federal Resume Writing. The FFSC Career Center offers computers, internet access, and job postings for your use.

Military spouses should see more flexible job opportunities under new OPM hiring policy.

Under the new policy, agencies can appoint military spouses to temporary, term or permanent positions in the civil service, OPM said. Military spouses must be currently married to an active or injured service member at the time the agencies make their appointments.

Transition Goals, Plans, and Success (TGPS)

TGPS is for Sailors and family members to be substantially better prepared for civilian life. Service members depart the military “career ready” and with strategies that augment the job search process in today’s market. Information on Veterans Benefits and resources are identified and reviewed.

Transition GPS workshops are required for every service member separating from the military. Transition GPS workshops are scheduled through your Command Career Counselor (CCC) and your command.  Pre-Separation Counseling and a Registration Request Form is required for TGPS via your CCC. All other workshops only require a Registration Request Form.
