Job Descriptions 

At our various FFSC locations, we offer federal government and contract positions in these five core areas:


Work and Family Life (WFL) Programs:
We directly support mission readiness and personal resiliency by empowering service members and their families to meet the challenges of the military lifestyle.  Our WFL team members provide deployment readiness support, Ombudsman Program support, career services through Transition Assistance and Family Employment, Personal Financial Management, Relocation assistance, Life Skills workshops, resource referrals, Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) Support for Families with Special Needs, and more.  

The WFL team primarily delivers services through individualized consultations and facilitated training (via in-person and webinar sessions), as well as conducting outreach.  

Our WFL team includes:
  • Work and Family Life Consultants (WFLCs)
  • Education Services Facilitators (ESFs)
  • EFMP Case Managers
  • Personal Financial Managers/Accredited Financial Counselors
     


Counseling, Advocacy and Prevention (CAP): 
CAP staff provide individual, group, and family counseling, Family Advocacy Program (FAP) intervention for incidents of domestic violence and child abuse/neglect, assessment and treatment for Problematic Sexual Behavior in Children and Youth (PSB-CY), Sailor Assistance and Intercept for Life (SAIL) case management in response to suicide-related behavior, FAP victim advocacy, New Parent Support home visits, and related prevention, education, and awareness programs.  CAP team members include:

  • Clinical Counselors:  Our fully-licensed counselors provide non-medical clinical counseling, case management, and treatment.  These positions require a Master’s degree or doctorate in a counseling-related field and a current clinical state license to practice independently in any US State.

  • Family Advocacy Program (FAP) Victim Advocates (VAs):  FAP VAs provide victim advocacy, safety planning, and resources to adult and child victims of domestic violence.  

  • Deployed Resiliency Counselors (DRCs):  DRCs are clinical counselors that enjoy adventure!  DRCs deploy onboard a large Navy ship and provide clinical services while traveling the world.

  • New Parent Support (NPS) Home Visitors:  Our NPS Home Visitors provide new parent education and outreach to military families.
     



Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program (SAPR) Team:
Our SAPR team consists of Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARCs) and SAPR Victim Advocates (VAs).  This team provides sexual assault awareness and prevention education, victim advocacy, response coordination, case management and incident data collection to active-duty personnel, adult family members and commands.
 



Navy Gold Star Program (NGSP): 
The Navy Gold Star Program is the Navy's official program for providing long-term survivor assistance to the surviving families of all service members who pass away while on active duty.  Our installation Navy Gold Star Coordinators provide case management, resource referrals, information on benefits, and special events to recognize and support surviving families.
 



Integrated Prevention Workforce (IPW):  Our IPW focuses on primary prevention.  This includes Embedded Integrated Prevention Coordinators (EIPCs) that deploy on ships to provide primary prevention and WFL/SAPR programs while deployed, and support the deployable platforms while at home.
